Vu Android 4K UHD LED TVs launched in India, price starts at Rs 36,999

Television brand Vu has launched its first Android-based smart TV in India. The company has launched the Android 4K UHD LED TV in three screen sizes: 43-inch, 49-inch and 55-inch. All the TV come with 4K UHD resolution and will be exclusively available online on Flipkart and offline from Vu’s flagship stores starting March 16, 2018.

The company has priced the 43-inch (43SU128) model at Rs 36,999 and the 49-inch (49SU131) and 55-inch (55SU134) at Rs 46,999 and 55,999 respectively. The TVs are powered by quad-core processor with Mali T860 GPU. The devices offer 2.5GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. The company said that the Smart televisions run Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and the company will also roll out Android 8.0 Oreo operating system.

Vu’s new Android TV series runs Android 7.0 Smart OS, and has built-in Google apps including the Google Play store, apart from YouTube and Netflix. Other preloaded apps include Hotstar, Facebook Video, Sony Liv, and ALT Balaji. All three models also come with ActiVoice voice-control enabled remote controllers which let users search, browse, and select in 88 languages, the company claims. It also offers built-in Chromecast features.

As we mentioned, all three Vu Android TV series models - 55-inch (55SU138), 49-inch (49SU131), and 43-inch (43SU128) – sport similar specifications, expect for panel size. All bear IPS panels (DLED backlit) with a 4K UHD (3840x2160 pixels) resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate, 8-bit colour panel, and 450-nit brightness.

They are all powered by a quad-core processor with 2.5GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. All three also offer Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, and Ethernet connectivity, apart from three HDMI (ARC+CEC) ports, two USB ports (one USB3.0 and one USB2.0), one S/PDIF port, one headphone jack, one AV component port, and one RF input. All three also offer DTS TruSurround and Dolby Digital audio support, and feature an integrated soundbar with two 10 speakers.

The company has also incorporated Vu ActiVoice technology built into the remote to facilitate voice search and browse through the content. The company has partnered with Netflix, Hotstar and ALTBalaji for the content. The users will also be able to install apps and games from the Google Play Store on the TVs.

The company also revealed that the TV come with built-in 10+10 Watt Box Speaker and has support for Dolby Digital and DTS. In terms of connectivity, the device offers WiFI, Bluetooth, HDMI, USB 2.0 and Ethernet.
