French Brand Thomson Launches 3 Smart TV Models in India, price starts at Rs 13,490

French brand Thomson launched its new affordable smart and 4K UHD TV line-up in the Indian market on Thursday to take on Xiaomi's Mi TV 4 and Mi TV 4A. Thomson's 32, 40 and 43-inch TVs offer Android and start at Rs 13,490 for the 32-inch HD+ 32M3277 model, going all the way to Rs 27,999 for the 43-inch 4K UHD 43TM4377 model. The 40-inch full-HD 40TM4099 model will meanwhile cost Rs 19,990. Thomson has entered an exclusive licensing agreement with SPPL (Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd) to make its new TVs in India, the company announced.


They will go on sale in the country exclusively via Flipkart starting Friday, April 13. The flash sale for the new Thomson televisions will start at 12pm IST. The models are affordably priced, and appear set to take budget TV players such as Micromax, Vu, and Xiaomi in the country.
"We are delighted to partner up with a leading and historic global brand like Thomson. It is SPPL's endeavor and commitment to promote 'Make in India', generate employment and contribute to the Indian economy. With the launch we aim to capture 6 per cent - 7 per cent of total TV market share and make Thomson, No 1 online smart TV brand in India. We have already planned to put one more manufacturing line of Led TV by next-quarter in order to offer Indian consumer products that are at par with global Standards i.e. quality, innovation and elegance, at a competitive price. While technology and innovation remains the core of it, we have worked on many aspects of TV keeping in mind the Indian palate for aesthetics, color and sound," Avneet Singh Marwah, CEO, Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd said.
The 43-inch 4K UHD 43TM4377 smart TV comes with an LG IPS display panel with 3840x2160 pixels resolution along with HDR support. Thomson claims that there is a 178-degree viewing angle, as well while the device runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box. The 43-inch model of Thomson televisions features two 10W speakers while ports include 1x RF input, 1x AV input, 1x Component port, 2x USB ports, 3x HDMI ports, 1x RJ45 port, 1x 3.5mm headphone jack, 1x SPDIF port, and one SD card slot. The 40-inch 40TM4099 smart TV comes with a Samsung LED-backlit panel with a full-HD (1920x1080) resolution along with a peak brightness of 450 nits. Thomson claims that there is a 178-degree viewing angle, as well while the device runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box. The 40-inch model of Thomson televisions features two 10W speakers while ports include 1x RF input, 1x AV input, 1x Component port, 2x USB ports, 3x HDMI ports, 1x 3.5mm headphone jack, 1x RJ45 port, 1x SPDIF port and one SD card slot. It also comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity.


The 32-inch 32M3277 smart TV, which is also the most affordable out of the three, sports a Samsung LED-backlit panel with an HD (1366x768) resolution along with a peak brightness of 450 nits. Thomson claims that there is a 178-degree viewing angle, as well while the device runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box. The 32-inch model of Thomson televisions has a total audio output of 20W while ports include 1x RF input, 1x AV input, 1x Component port, 2x USB ports, 3x HDMI ports, 1x RJ45 port, 1x 3.5mm headphone jack, 1x SPDIF port, and one SD card slot. It also comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity.
