How to check and delete your search, browsing and viewing history that Google has with him

The one big thing that has come out of the whole Facebook-Cambridge Analytica scandal is that people are more aware of their privacy. Prior to it, there weren’t too many questions being asked. Knowingly or unknowingly most of us shared our data without a second though of where is it going and who’s sharing what. Not anymore though as there’s a greater sense of awareness.

And companies like Google and Facebook are becoming more transparent with how your data is being used. Recently, Google came out with new privacy policy and is letting users “understand” what information is being collected.

In a blog post the company noted, We’re updating our current Privacy Policy to make it easier to understand what information we collect, and why we collect it. We’ve improved the navigation and organization of the policy to make it easier to find what you’re looking for; explained our practices in more detail and with clearer language; and added more detail about the options you have to manage, export, and delete data from our services.

Here we tell you how to see the data Google stores on your plethora of web searches, browsing history and the videos you’ve seen on YouTube. Follow these steps to know, manage and delete all the data Google has:

How to manage your data on Google
  1. Go to My Activity page on Google using https://myactivity.google.com/myactivity
  2. On the left side of the page, you can see various tabs like Item View, Other Google Activity, among others.
  3. Click on Google Activity to see what all information – location history, device information – is being with the search giant.
  4. You can click on various tabs and manage the information that you want to share with Google.
How to delete your search history, YouTube history on Google:
  1. Go to My Activity page on Google using https://myactivity.google.com/myactivity
  2. You’ll see a three-dot menu on top right
  3. Click on the menu and see what all YouTube videos you’ve watched.
