You can use this tracking device to monitor your pets or valuables; it works similarly to Apple's AirTag. The new Lost Mode feature allows users to enter their contact information via text message. When a misplaced tag, object, or pet is discovered, anyone can scan the Galaxy SmartTag 2 to get the owner's information. Samsung claims that anyone can use this service on any mobile device that has an NFC reader and a web browser.

Additionally, the business added the SmartTag 2 to the Compass View feature, making it easier to track directions. Users can access the feature on any Galaxy smartphone that is UWB compatible. Samsung's SmartThings Find app has also been improved. On their smartphone, users can now add a shortcut to the app. It has a full-screen map view and an enhanced user interface.

Up to 700 days of battery life in power-saving mode and 500 days in regular mode are advertised for the Galaxy SmartTag 2. Its battery life is double that of previous Galaxy SmartTag models. For dust and splash resistance, it has an IP67 rating.
